"Very thankful for the prompt service"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Breast Care

(as a service user),

I was referred to the Breast Clinic from my GP. I got a phone call asking if I could take an appointment as there had been a cancellation. 

I was concerned about the appointment as I had pain for a number of weeks. There were signs in the waiting room advising there can be a wait due to of people needed further investigations. 

I was seen by a Health Care Assistant, a Medical Student called Peter, and another Doctor, Dr Devlin. 

The Medical Student and Dr Devlin examined me and sent me for an Ultrasound. 

I was then brought into another waiting area where I met another Health Care Assistant who brought me to the Ultrasound Room and I met the Radiographer, Sarah. I was told I would get the results immediately . 

Thankfully it was clear. All the staff were very welcoming and explained everything they done. 

I am a nurse, and it was difficult being at the other side. But I was very thankful for the prompt service and how professional all the staff were.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

You attended what we refer to as the Triple Assessment Clinic and this is indeed a Gold standard service that we are incredibly proud of. It enables, as in your case, patients to be seen, assessed, avail of diagnostics if required and results delivered on the same day. This goes a long way to putting a patient's mind at ease when they are, understandably, worried about the results.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and I will ensure that Dr Devlin and colleagues have sight of this;
