"Made me feel very special"

I attended University Hopsital Hairmyres' Maternity Day Unit recently for my first maternity USS.

I was quite nervous but felt immediately at ease in the care of Michelle. Michelle took time to introduce herself to us, confirming my details and also asking my husband his name to ensure he felt included. She explained what she was doing every step of the way, including at the start- taking time to say that she would be quiet for a moment while we got set up and that is normal and not anything to worry about. I feel she had really thought of all the anxious moments that expectant mothers have during ultrasound scans, and ensured that she explained what was happening and put us at ease through every one of them.

She was really kind and enthusiastic, I was probably 1 of many scans that she performed that day and she made me feel very special rather than just a number. 

I hope this message gets back to her- thank for for making my first scan such a positive experience, we were both absolutely delighted with the service. You are so special and an asset to the health service.
