"I am a new person to the patient feedback challenge and I am enjoying being involved and having my opinion count. Today we had the CAMHS Head to Head meeting which part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, and we were looking at some question that had been put forward so that the young people can put their own point of view forward. I think it is very important for everyone to have their own say and be listened to."

CAMHS come to Rosewood

"We had a Patient feedback challenge meeting today with Head to Head who are currently organising and planning logistics for volunteers to be in the right area to meet with young people and their families. The volunteers are DBS checked.

They have arranged questions that the young people want to be involved in that suits there needs for them to have their say. This is a pilot project that could get off the ground. Can we say how much we are enjoying wotk with Sam from the Head to Head team."

Along with the Head of Involvement (Paul Sanguinazzi), I am responsible for the Trusts two Involvement Centres, and our Volunteering and Befriending Service. I help to report all of the feedback we receive as a Trust to the Board.

Hi Mallow,

Thanks for sharing these comments on behalf of the Rosewood volunteers involved in the Head-to-Head project.

Sam and the Head-to-Head team are doing a fantastic job in this second wave of the Patient Feedback Challenge. The project is progressing well, and the idea (to have volunteers going out to speak to the young people in their homes or neutral settings to listen to their feedback) is a very good one - innovative and well suited to the group of young people who specifically said that they didn't like questionnaires etc.

I bumped into Sam at a meeting recently and she explained how valuable the input of the volunteers has been, both in helping to plan the work and now to help capture feedback. She is very grateful for your help, thanks so much on behalf of Sam and Involvement.

For me, the really 'stand-out' element of this project is that Sam and the team have already established some of the ways they will use the feedback. Sam told me that one of the questions the volunteers will ask the young people is 'What do you most value/like about your worker?'. She explained that she will use the answers to this question to inform the essential criteria on the person specification for Head-to-Head workers (and this learning could probably spread to other services in the Trust supporting children and young people).

Thanks again for being involved in this project, it's a great example of services and volunteers working in partnership,

Its absolutely wonderful working with all you volunteers from Rosewood, you help us to remain motivated and enthusiastic and keep us connected to the importance of seeking young peoples opinions about the service that we provide. Myself and Gwen really enjoy our meetings!
