"Angry and upset"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

Recently my fiancé was sent to Lincoln County Hospital A&E from the podiatry clinic as his left foot was red and swollen on and around his diabetic foot ulcer, and he was complaining of feeling shivery and run down.

So I took him up to A&E and the positives from this was he was seen fairly quickly, but that’s where it stops. The consultants and doctors were pleasant enough, but I find it a disgrace that they deemed his foot wasn’t infectious and sent him home. Yes, the doctors told him if he got worse to return to Lincoln A&E, I get that, but I could tell it was the on set of an infection and I feel that they could’ve prescribed him with antibiotics. I understand that not all swollen limbs means an infection, and the blood test he had done at A&E came back okay, but my fiancé has a foot ulcer and is diabetic, so when I saw his foot swelling up and turning red, it could be nothing but it wasn’t.

Afterwards I took him to another hospital and they verified it was infectious. I’m angry and upset over this whole experience.
