My partner had an appointment with an ophthalmologist today. I don’t know the name of the nurse but they told my partner that he had missed an appointment at Lincoln County in ophthalmology. This is not correct at all. We received two letters to our address that were addressed to him, saying that this appointment was cancelled and to come on today’s date.
I do not like the fact the nurse made a rather curt insinuation that my partner failed to attend his appointment. These appointments are vital and he has never, ever missed one. I feel this department needs to sort their letters out better, as he got another sent to our address that had a different appointment time on the day that was cancelled, but yet he received one saying it was cancelled altogether. I am slightly frustrated about this department and want better clarity made when sending out letters.
Also, I myself have an appointment with ophthalmology that was made by my optician in May, apparently labelled urgent, and I’m still waiting to be seen to. I suffer with anxiety and depression and to be told that I’m an urgent case and am still waiting seven months later, isn’t good at all. I know they’re busy, trust me I do, but as I said to the receptionist, it’s good thing I’m not going blind, waiting to be seen here, no wonder people go private. Please get this sorted. And soon.
