"Feedback to staff."

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

I would like to leave a massive thank you to Paramedics Laura and Sarah (from Glasgow East?) who attended my Mum in the early hours after a bad fall with a broken hip. My elderly Mum who has Alzheimer's and had been lying on the floor for some time (due to considerable wait for Ambulance) was upset and in a lot of pain. Laura and Sarah were extremely compassionate, attentive and quick to assist Mum with her pain, whilst maintaining her dignity. This service seems way too stretched and no-one should have to wait so long that they are incontinent a number of times and lying I'm their own urine. However, I don't want to take away from the care my Mum received from those two girls. I really hope this thank you can reach the intended recipients.

Dear Heart 101,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to your mum, she must have been terrified. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the wait that she had, you are absolutely right that nobody should have to wait that long, particularly our most vulnerable - I am very sorry. I do hope that your mum is feeling better now and on the road to recovery. It is however great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide and am very pleased to read that Laura and Sarah had such an impact on yourselves.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crew directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your mothers name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best with a very happy new year and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
