"My partner's time in A&E"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

I attended A&E with my partner. They gave my partner the wrong information saying that his results were all clear when they weren't. He has Autism and was anxious, pacing up and down the corridors. They said that they would give him something to calm him down, but they didn't, and we had to spend 12 hours in the hospital.

Dear jacnc84,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Emergency Department.

I am sorry to hear that your partner was given the wrong information about test results and that this caused him to have further anxiety. I can only imagine how he must have felt. It is disappointing that the offer of something to help him calm down was made but not followed through.

I will pass your feedback onto the management who will use your experience for learning with the staff.

I hope your partner is feeling better.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
