"Amazing Student Nurse"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Ellie, a 2nd year student nurse helped to look after my Sister in the Accident & Emergency Department, Monklands Hospital in December 2024. She was very kind, caring and knowledgeable and gave exceptional care with a smile which helped my Sister and us her family to feel well looked after

The A&E department was extremely busy and after 5 hours of waiting in the corridor in extreme pain my Sister was moved into a side room. This was when we met Ellie, she was attentive and providing reassurance to my Sister and to us as her family throughout her shift, she was very capable in explaining what she doing and why. Ellie stayed beyond her finish time to ensure that observations were taken and reported on before she finished.

We all felt very well looked after by Ellie and wish her well for her future training.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback; this is very much appreciated. I am pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience with Ellie, in what would have been a worrying time for your sister and family. Ellie obviously did a fantastic job of reassuring you all and will be delighted to hear this. I will pass your feed back onto the ED Senior Charge Nurse who will be sure to share your feedback with Ellie. Thanks again for feeding back and your well wishes for Ellie, and I hope your sister is now very much on the mend.

Best wishes. Angela
