I first started going to the chronic pain team over 9 years ago. I have severe spinal stenosis & other pain conditions and was at my very lowest. I completed the online courses which I found really helpful.
The treatment I've had under Mr Marple has been superb, he genuinely cares about his patients, he listens and explains treatment options. I was unfortunately given my diagnosis of severe spinal stenosis over the phone due to COVID, and with surgery not an option was very frightened and low. No one had actually explained my MRI's and my pain was becoming unbearable.
Mr Marple is kind, patient and excellent at what he does. I now get injections every 6 months which allows me to have a quality of life again. I recently began having severe migraines, neck and shoulder pain as well, the MRI showed cervical stenosis as well. Mr Marple suggested trigger point injections and did those at the same time as my usual injections.
Without the intervention I've had from Mr Marple I wouldn't have any quality of life. This condition has already taken away my career in the NHS which I loved, my independence and I had become some low. I honestly don't know what I'd do without this ongoing treatment, Mr Marple is a credit to NHS Lothian and I'm very grateful to have him as my Consultant.
