"No compassion or empathy"

About: Maternity care / Delivery Suite Maternity care / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was in slow labour with twins just after child loss last year and one midwife in particular had no compassion or empathy whatsoever towards me or my support people, they administered medication not telling me the full details of what it would do; the medication stopped my labour.

On a second occasion not long after the first one I had a different midwife who may I add was so very kind and helpful, but not long after being admitted my midwife went on to help another patient, the midwife from the first occasion entered my room and then demanded that I do numerous things and sent me into an anxiety attack which was dangerous for my unborn babies. They proceeded then to tell me that I am going to be a mum and to pull up my big girl pants, my designated midwife then entered my room again seen how upset I was and asked them to leave the room and not to come back.

I am now left with more trauma than losing a child and don’t know if I’d have any more children incase I receive treatment like that again.
