My parents are both in their late 80s with varying health conditions. We were referred to the partnership for support, as I could not do any more and was struggling. However my Dad who has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia and has had a stroke received minimal support especially from the post dementia team. Now is in a care home.
For my Mum the support has been minimal and communication has been next to none. The teams don’t appear to speak to each other and unless we chased things up they were never completed.
Care staff changed several times so we were bounced from pillar to post and now we have no support whatsoever, yet her health is deteriorating to the point her mobility deteriorating means she is virtually housebound.
There has been no follow ups from the council or partnership. She was allocated a case worker who appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth as well. So we have had to do everything for her, which is putting immense strain on the family.
Very disappointed in the level of support she has received.
"Lack of support and communication"
