"Outstanding care"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I started to bleed and pass fist sized clots following a total hysterectomy 2 weeks previously.

We phoned 111 and got through in 30 mins. Thank you to the call handler, Adam and nurse Anna.

An ambulance was called and after a bit of a wait a doctor called to check on me and upgraded the response. Thank you to her for her calmness and reassurance. Paramedic James & his partner (sorry I didn’t note his name) helped and reassured me and took me to A&E at QEUH. I was straight in with no wait and seen promptly. Thank you to all A&E staff.

I was admitted to ward 49 gynaecology. During a very scary and rollercoaster ride in hospital I received what can only be classed at 5 star care from all staff.

Dr Dsa’s compassion, kindness and genuine care will never be forgotten. Jennifer, Janet, Chloe, Sean, Robert, Sophie, Anna, Gillian, Jordan, Roseanne and everyone whose name I forgot to note are all amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their care, patience and kindness.

Dear Marm2712,

First of all thank you very much for taking the time to feed back to us about the outstanding care you received in ward 49 QEUH, this is very much appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear about your terrible time you had at home followed by an ambulance transfer to be admitted with very heavy bleeding. This must have been very scary indeed for you.

It's good to hear about the 5 star care, patience and kindness from our staff, it's lovely for this to be recognised. I will also pass it onto Dr D'sa about the kindness and compassion that she showed you too, she will be touched by this I'm sure.

Wishing you all the best with your ongoing recovery,

Fiona Proctor,

Interim Senior Charge Nurse

Ward 49, QEUH
