I had a bile leak and then an ERCP which caused pancreatitis.
From my arrival on this ward I felt very well looked after. Everyone had time to discuss my condition with me and give me information about my observations etc. It was clear that the staff on this ward worked very hard in sometimes quite difficult circumstances.
I suffered quite badly with my mental health during my time on this ward and was struggling to sleep but I felt incredibly supported by the staff.
They were caring, empathetic, compassionate. They clearly took mental health as seriously as physical health.
I have quite a few names I want to mention - Binu, Lewis, Lyndsay, Caitlin, Adele, Ancy. These staff made me feel calm and well looked after, they were all very professional and efficient in their roles. I also want to mention Steven, Shishir & Martin who were all lovely, kind and hard working , nothing was too much trouble.
Susan came to take my bloods every day and had a lovely bedside manner, always taking the time to have a chat and show empathy. Ishaque also had this amazing bedside manner that would put you at ease. He was professional, kind and clearly very hard working. I was a nightmare to get a cannula in but he persevered and again it felt like nothing was too much trouble when speaking to him.
I really want to thank them all for making such a difficult time for me that little bit easier. They should all be very proud of the work they do.
