"The care we received was just amazing!"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

We arrived at A&E one evening as my baby had fallen put of a high chair backwards and hit her head. She went floppy and we couldn’t keep her awake. The care we received was just amazing!

Every nurse was so friendly and helped to look after my daughter. I immediately felt more calm. We were seen by a nurse and then a doctor very quickly and she was well looked after. We were offered hot drinks and juice and biscuits for our other two young children by a volunteer. This was really lovely and again made us all feel better after a scary incident.

We were given a room to wait in for a couple of hours as the doctor wanted to monitor my baby. The room had a tv and an ipad. This made such a difference trying to keep 3 children entertained! Everywhere was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. A nurse even kindly gave us a bubble machine for my baby.

We can’t thank all of the staff enough for all of their kindness when we needed it. They are all just incredible! Our experience at this hospital was amazing. Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience—it truly means a lot to hear. We’re so sorry you and your family had to go through such a frightening situation, but we’re really glad our team could help make things a little easier for you. It’s wonderful to hear that everyone helped you feel supported and cared for, from the clinical staff to the volunteer with the biscuits!

We’re especially happy that your little ones were kept entertained and comfortable while your baby was being monitored.

We’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to the whole team.

Wishing your daughter a smooth and speedy recovery!
