"Appointment change"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)

(as the patient),

I got to the rd&e for my 12.30 chemo appt.

Only to find out it had been changed to 2.30. this presented a problem for me as it meant travelling back during the rush hour. Elf would be already, taxis too and cost over £30. I'm not knocking the bus but it takes nearly an hour and that's on the edge of what my bladder can handle.

Then it come to three o clock and I haven't been called through. I've had a lot of things go wrong recently and that was a last straw. I upped and went home without telling anybody. That was a very stupid thing to do. Fortunately someone rang me and they were able to fit me in the next morning.

To get to the point, I'd have thought my care would have been able to notify me that my appointment has changed. What I should do now is check on my care every day before my appt to make sure it hasn't changed. But I think either the app needs improving, or another method of communication should be used. Phone, text, email etc leaving out what's app and messenger
