"Kind and helpful staff"

About: St Johns Hospice / Day Therapy Unit

(as a relative),

I started attending St John’s Hospice Day Therapy unit when I was diagnosed. Since staring here I have found that the staff are helpful and helped with my diagnosis. Each week they do a talk to help you understand things that may happen or change throughout your journey and how to cope with these.

I also find all the staff here are kind and helpful and I know if I have any worries or concerns they will help me through my journey. I enjoy the company and talking to staff as I live on my own so it’s nice to speak to other people.

I have had reflexology which I find very relaxing. There are a large variety of different activities which you can do such as painting, planting seeds, quizzes and exercise this ensures that you do something different each week. There are other services like an hairdresser which has helped me due to not being able to get to the hairdressers.

Overall, I really enjoy attending this centre as they can’t do enough to help you.

Hi Bluewk88

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments about the Day Therapy Unit. I'm really pleased to hear that the team have made a difference and helped support you.

The team will be glad to hear that they have made a positive impact for you, and I will share your comments with them personally and discuss your kind comments at our next team meeting too. It is really reassuring to know that we have the right structure and people in place to be able to provide the care you deserve.

Thanks again.
