I recently had a small lesion which is probably basal cell carcinoma removed from my arm in Dermatology Outpatient. I arrived shortly before the specified time expecting to wait but was seen straight away.
I went to a consultation room where the doctor who was to preform the excision explained exactly what was going to happen - he had a great manner about him and filled me with confidence about the procedure.
I had the excision, was stitched up and the nurse then put on the dressing and explained the after care and gave me documents which repeated what she had told me along with some more dressings.
The care was excellent and I am really grateful to the department and the NHS.
