"Unable to contact anyone about hysteroscopy appointment"

I am scheduled to have a hysteroscopy later this month on ward 43 outpatients at Altnagelvin Hospital. I was told that if I wanted general anaesthetic I would have to wait a few months and so opted to do the procedure without General.

I have since looked into the procedure and have read many women find it extremely painful and this has worried me. I have been trying to get hold of someone to discuss pain relief options for this appointment and I can't get hold of anyone. The letter I was sent offers no information regarding the procedure and gives one telephone number which is the standard booking office. I have been trying to ring them to no avail, ive tried the main switch board to the hospital, they dont even answer they hang up before you have the chance to even say hello and the online chat option nobody answers or it says they're closed for staff training. There is literally no one to speak to regarding this.

I am extremely anxious about this procedure, I was referred from my GP with a red flag 2 week referral so I need this procedure done as soon as possible hence why I opted for the quicker appointment but I don't want to get there and have to stop the procedure because it's too painful and have to wait even longer for another appointment, I want to make sure I have adequate pain relief in order to get this done.

I dont think it's good enough to tell women to take a paracetamol before the procedure and hope for the best, adequate pain relief should be discussed beforehand yet this letter tells me nothing and offers no way of contacting anyone to discuss this and calm my anxiety.

Please could someone point me in the right direction of where I can get hold of someone to discuss this?
