"Partner in A&E After Tonic-Clonic Seizure"

About: North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Royal Bolton Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

The paramedics who saw us at the house and took my partner in, then the nurses and doctors were saw at the Emergency Dept at Bolton, were professional, friendly, and efficient. They kept us updated and I'll always be grateful to them for making us feel safe after the first frightening overnight seizure my partner has had.

It was a Monday morning (busy time everywhere after weekend departments and clinics closed). Because my partner stabilised after the first seizure, other emergencies were triaged and we were at A&E on a ward for a while (around 6-7 hours). The doctor who saw us worked hard to establish a cause and ran a few tests, alongside the ECG the paramedics completed. This takes time and due to NHS pressures countrywide - and I want to underline this - we both agreed a wait like this is unavoidable. We felt cared for the whole time and thank the staff at the hospital.
