"Grateful for the care received"

About: Health visiting / Dundee Health Visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

Our newborn daughter was very unsettled and uncomfortable after all her feeds in the early few weeks. As a new mum I struggled to enjoy these early days and did not have the confidence to start baby classes due to how upset my daughter was during wake windows. My health visitor Gayle took the time during home visits and over the phone to listen and give advice on how I could make her more comfortable. She sat through a feed with me to get a better understanding of what was going on. After this we discussed what could be causing the discomfort and we subsequently got a prescription for milk thickener for potential reflux. This addition to feeds had a huge positive impact.

My daughter became so happy and content after feeds. We can now enjoy time together and have started going to classes. She feels like a different baby. Without Gayle taking the time to listen and see how my daughter was I do believe we would still be struggling. I am so grateful for the impact Gayle has had on our family.
