"Broken ankle and susbequent surgery"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / General Surgery Craigavon Area Hospital / Trauma Ward Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Injury my ankle and attended Daisy Hill. They diagnosed a broken ankle that would require surgery and transferred me to Craigavon hospital trauma ward. I was discharged the following morning as the ankle was too swollen for surgery.

I returned 28th for surgery which was delayed a day due to an emergency. That can't be helped.

Unfortunately that meant Fridays surgery and discharge until the following Mon. Awaiting the pin team as I type. Overall, the experience was positive. I severely injured my ankle and Im grateful for the surgery and expertise.

The nursing staff were lovely. The food was not. I feel my pain could perhaps have been managed a little better, but again, this was a difficult injury and the surgery was always going to result in pain

Dear Spuds

Thank you for posting regarding your hospital experience.

I am sorry you were disappointed with the food. I will pass your comments to the Catering Team. Patient menus are reviewed regularly and feedback is taken into consideration as part of the review process.

Regards

Aideen
