"Most amazing treatment"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29) Royal Alexandra Hospital / GP Out of Hours

(as a service user),

I phoned nhs 24 on a early October Saturday as I had suffered gallstone pain for nearly 3 weeks, got a quick reply and asked a few questions, got an appointment that same evening at out of hours department, nursing staff that did B.P etc were so nice, I then seen a doctor (I apologise I cant remember his name) he was so nice and took time to listen, he then sent me to A&E,  again nursing staff so nice, I got a full assessment i.e B.P,  E.C.G. bloods and tested for diabetes a full M.O.T  I then waited for a wee while and was seen by a surgeon he explained what he thought the problem was (again cant remember his name) he was also very nice and organised a follow up appointment for ultrasound 3 days later.

I attended the clinic staff were lovely, girl that done my scan and her H.C.S.W made you feel at ease, I waited back at clinic and was seen by a Mr/Dr. Mustafa, (I think that was his name), he gave me results of scan there and then and offered to do my surgery (gallbladder removal) on a coming day I told him about my holiday plans and I was willing to cancel them, he advised me to go and enjoy the holiday and he will put me on another waiting list.

During the 3 days I have had the most amazing treatment, the whole team from NHS24 to speaking to the surgeon was outstanding each and everyone of then are a credit to their profession.

Thanks again NHS

Dear Shosho64

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. I noticed that your story mentioned a few different services, and I am replying on behalf of NHS 24.

I was sorry to hear that you had to contact 111 due to your suffering gallstone pain for nearly 3 weeks, that sounds incredibly tough. However, I am delighted to hear about the positive patient journey you experienced and that NHS 24 played a part in it. From the initial call to the 111 service, to the care you received at Out of Hours department, and then further onward care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. It's wonderful to know you regard each staff member you encountered a credit to their profession.

If you would like to share more information with me, including your Care Opinion username, I can locate the staff you spoke with from NHS 24 and share your kind words with them. We always strive to ensure that our staff receive positive feedback so they can see how much their care is valued when people call our services.

You can contact me by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thank you once again for sharing your story, and I hope you are doing well.

Kind regards,
