I received a message saying my routine cervical screening was due so to book an appointment. I went through the booking system the surgery use (eConsult) only to get a response that I can't book a cervical screening through the system. I am left confused as to why not, and how I do book an appointment (given that is their stated online booking system).
The message I received said I need to contact the surgery, but with no further instructions on which method I can contact them through. This was a number of months ago with no further contact.
What could have been better: 1) Being able to book an appointment in one step. 2) Using one clearly signposted online system, regardless of the kind of appointment you need. 3) Clarity at the beginning of the online booking system that you can't book cervical screening appointments on there, with clear instructions on how you can book them.
Currently very unclear how you book and a source of unnecessary admin for both the service and myself. Surely a smooth, efficient system could be put in place.
