"Excellent care"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Ninewells Hospital / Intensive Care Unit Ninewells Hospital / Surgical High Dependency Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Trauma & Orthopaedics / Major Trauma Ward Trauma & Orthopaedics / Trauma/Orthopaedics (Ward 19)

(as a relative),

My Father was admitted to Ninewells Hospital following a major trauma incident.

He was given excellent care from the moment he arrived in A&E and transferred to SHDU and as a family we were well informed about the plan of care.

He had to go to theatre for surgery which resulted in an admission to ICU for a short stay before being transferred back to SHDU, then being stepped down to the Major Trauma Unit then to Ward 19 and finally transferred to Royal Victoria Hospital.

In all my Father spend almost 9 weeks in hospital and during this time the care he has received has been excellent, from the ambulance staff to the porters, the domestic staff, the HCAs, the nurses, the medical teams, the surgeons, the anaesthetists, the theatre teams, the psychology team, the radiology teams, the physiotherapists and occupational therapists, all who have treated my Dad with dignity and respect whilst rehabilitating him back to mobility and eventually getting home.

My family and I are extremely grateful for the care and support given to him during this time.
