An elderly family member had a suspected stroke. Slurred speech, drooping mouth. Took her to A&E, straight through to triage. The triage nurse (didn’t get her name) was lovely, explained to her that once she calls a suspected stroke it can be quite an experience, with people coming. It was great to have advance warning. Few minutes later Dr King and his team appeared.
They were so lovely with our relative, explaining things in a calm way, but managing to get the answers and tests completed that they needed to.
She is being kept in. But honestly, she felt looked after, and it was just great for professionals to come in and explain things in a way that didn’t overwhelm her.
Thank you so much for the care you showed. It was amazing!
