"Staff have been wonderfully supportive and caring"

About: Western General Hospital / Emergency Surgical Admissions

(as the patient),

Came into the Western General after 13 hours waiting in A&E (ouch!) and staff have been wonderfully supportive and caring as I settled in. Being in hospital is naturally quite scary but they did everything to put me at ease, and were extremely kind and helpful when I had a mishap after coming back from surgery around midnight. Then (as then surgery immediately brightened me up and brought back my appetite) the tea and toast at 1am was by far the best thing I'd eaten all week. Found out I will need to stay another couple of nights so can rest assured I'm in safe hands 🥰

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such lovely feedback. I will pass this on to the team. We appreciate that it can be a daunting time to be in hospital so do our utmost to make all our patients feel at ease, we are so glad that you have felt well cared for and that you are on the road to recovery.

With best wishes,

Kathryn Cook
