"Baby boy delivered safely!"

I recently gave birth at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, and I can’t thank the maternity team enough for the incredible care we received.

My midwife, Bethany, was absolutely amazing from the moment I arrived. I was in the early stages of labour, and things progressed quite quickly, but Bethany kept me calm and reassured throughout. She explained every step and made sure I fully understood what observations were being done for both me and baby. Her calm, caring, and compassionate manner made such a difference. 

She was supported by Nadine for the birth of our son, who was equally wonderful — both midwives made sure my husband and I were comfortable and well looked after at all times. It was lovely to see Nadine as she also helped deliver our first born son a few years ago. Once our baby arrived, we were given lovely skin-to-skin time, first with me and then with my partner, before being moved to a comfortable room to recover. Before their shift ended, Bethany and Nadine came to wish us well, which was such a thoughtful touch and meant a lot to us. 

Afterwards, Tracey took over our care until we were discharged later that day, and she was also fantastic — attentive, kind, and supportive.

The care we received was second to none. We’re so grateful to the whole team for making our experience such a positive and memorable one. Thank you all so much for looking after us so well. Angels 😇
