I went for my endoscopy appointment and on arrival at reception I was met by a lovely nurse. She was so attentive towards me as I was anxious and I had a few tears. She reassured me, went over my details with me and told me to wait and someone would be out to get me and it wouldn't be too long.
Sure enough, I had sat down and then my name was called by a lovely nurse and student nurse, Charlene. They went over my details and asked some questions. I was then put into another room and told to wait but as I was waiting the student nurse,Charlene, came over and sat with me and we were just chatting. She knew how upset I was before and she made me feel so relaxed and calm and I am so grateful for that.
It was then my turn to go in and I was met by Staff Nurse Lynda, Ann, Debbie and Sister Roberts. I asked Charlene to come in with me and she did, bless her but I had nothing to worry about. Throughout the whole procedure Sister Roberts was fabulous, Lynda talked me through everything telling me exactly everything that was happening and what was going to happen next and how to breathe. She reassured me in every sense.
All of the team at the Endoscopy unit should be commended for what they do. Going from a sniffling wreck to walking out the door so happy and calm. They are the best team, The A Team.
"They are the best team"
