"Forever thankful to this wonderful team"

This review is 6 months late but I’m not sure I even have enough words or thanks to give to this amazing team.

My first baby was through standard maternity care where I had a great birth but I was so delighted to have the opportunity with my second baby to get into the CoC programme.

My assigned midwife was Gillian and she was just amazing from the start, so much care was given at every appointment. I was referred for growth scans and she even came along to appointments that she didn’t need to be at. Gillian was there to answer any questions/worries and reassured me throughout my whole pregnancy.

All of the girls were so friendly and welcoming at the clinic and it was lovely seeing familiar faces at each appointment. At my last growth scan, Rachel was there along with Gillian and the next day when I went into labour it was Rachel who greeted me at the assessment unit with a big hug- I was so delighted to see her!

Rachel was amazing during labour, I felt so relaxed with her as she supported me through making some decisions and she was just such a calming presence.

Briege then was the midwife who took over after Rachel and was also fantastic, she guided me through my birth so calmly and her reassurance through every step resulted in a great birth.

The midwife appointments that followed at home during discharge they were also so fantastic, even including my other little girl to make her feel part of it. Even though Gillian wasn’t there at the birth she made sure to stay in touch and even took time out of her day to pop in once we were home to meet the baby she cared so well for.

You really do build up such brilliant relationships with the midwives as part of this programme and I felt so at ease with them due to this.

Too often the NHS is getting criticised but these girls are the shining lights in our healthcare. I’m so thankful I got to experience the Continuity of Care, I just wish every future mummy got to experience it as well. Forever thankful to this wonderful team.
