"Painful blood test"

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience at the clinic. I am really sorry to read that it was not a good experience, and that the blood test you had was really painful.

Because this feedback system is anonymous, I am unable to identify when you attended or find out who took your blood sample. I would really like to be able to pick this up urgently and see whether we need to provide some additional training for the member of staff who took your blood, to ensure that there aren't problems with other patients in the future.

On this basis, I wonder whether you would feel happy to contact me (in complete confidence) so that I can investigate what went wrong on this occasion? If you feel OK about doing this, please can you email me at: rduh.shexeteradmin@nhs.net with your name and date of birth, so that I check your notes and see what happened? I will not directly share your story with the member of staff, but I will make sure if there are any training issues identified, I will make sure these are managed sensitively, so our patients continue to receive the highest standards of safe care.

If you have any concerns that you have on-going issues related to the blood test - e.g. pain, bruising, etc, I will also be happy to give you advice.
