"Hairmyres Opthalmic Dept"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

After have 3rd nerve palsy in my eye and unable to drive for 8 weeks I had my appointment in November.  I did all the tests etc and although my sight had improved I still had a ghosting at side of everything I looked at sonI wasn't ready for prism glasses. So came away very disappointed and was to come back in 3 months but strangely next morning when I got up no, ghosting and perfect vision.

I also had a medical appointment in the Dept at the end of Nov as had scans which were all clear so when I went for that the Ophthalmologist was very surprised that my eye had righted itself the day after being seen  so she was very pleased it was all well and that I could drive again as no serious issues showed on scans and really when double vision started after eyes tested at opticians back in September resolved after eyes tested in mid November.  So as initially predicted that it could resolve in 2 months it actually did! The staff and Ophthalmologists in Hairmyres are very knowledgeable and they share with the patient going into the details to try and explain how these things happen .

So Thank You to this Dept who have been extremely helpful  and were so correct with their prediction of could take up to 2 months. I had no idea how much can be seen when eye tests are done and many major health issues are treated when picked up with Depts such as Ophthalmics  in Hairmyres .
