I was transferred from Hairmyres to Wishaw to have a drain inserted into my stomach, I was extremely anxious however the staff in the ward were so reassuring and attentive it made me feel at ease. I stayed in ward 13 for just under a week and it is such a lovely ward. The nurses were fantastic, the nurse supports and domestics were all amazing, so helpful and friendly nothing was too much hassle for them. Dr Hassan was the doctor I saw and he was so reassuring and explained everything very well, his team each day were all profession and friendly and made you feel like you were in good hands.
I was admitted again for a second time for another drain around 4 weeks later Pauline called and advised when a bed was avaliable rather than me having to wait in a waiting room and being uncomfortable for hours which I thought was very kind and caring of her.
The staff are so busy in this ward but nothing is ever too much hassle to them when you ask, even when leaving Isobel carried my bags for me when my sister couldn't get parked to help me. The bed bay I was in was throughly cleaned daily and was always immaculate.
I would like to thanks the staff on ward 13 for all of their support and care , they really made a difficult time much more manageable.
