"Crisis support"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult Mental Health Crisis Services

(as a service user),

Finally got some support from the County Crisis team and for the first time in a long time I felt safe and supported- all seemed to be so helpful

Then came the nights!! 2 nights out of 4 no member of staff so no help. Third night the staff member just kept saying -I’m so sorry- and didn’t follow my crisis plan at all

Last night I rang at 4.30am and left a message, again at 6.30am and rang at 7.30am where I waited 40 minutes for someone to answer the phone. No response from the crisis team despite leaving 3 messages in distress.

Now I feel worthless and in pain just like as a child when I shouted for help and there wasn’t any

I give in - feel like never asking for help or expecting help again as it is not worth it

Good afternoon,

Thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to talk this through with me earlier today. I sincerely apologise for the experience you had caused by unexpected absence within the team that we were unable to cover over the Christmas period.

Following similar feedback re voicemail, we have strengthened our response to voicemails and have additional oversight of this to prevent such instances. We are also continuing to recruit into vacant positions to enable an equitable service overnight.

Thank you again for the feedback and please continue to reach out for support.

Charlotte
