This is what I think about my health care experience at my local hospice (John Eastwood). Well for a start, I knew of the hospice being there for some time now, and over the years you get talking to different people sometimes about it, and one gets the idea that it is there for people who may not have long to live, and it's just like a normal hospital (I. e corridors, treatment rooms, etc. ). How wrong I have been, as I am now a patient myself once every week. I have found it such a wonderful place to go with the care that is given.
On my first day I cried because of the loving feeling that I was given from everyone. They lifted my spirits up and helped me to feel better about myself. Someone to talk to and listen, also holding hands to guide me along somehow.
I felt that God was watching over me. Nothing is too much trouble for all involved. When going there I know that at the end of the day I can go home knowing that today I have had so very kind people to help me along with my worries about not being all that well. If anyone out there has any doubts about the hospice, please go along – you wont regret it - I don’t, you get the uplift and feeling someone is there waiting to hold you and now I am shedding a few more tears. God bless all of you.
"Such a wonderful place to go to"
