"No consultation or treatment after over 2yrs of being discharged and on liquid foods only"

I can no longer stay quiet about the treatment my mother has received from Wishaw general hospital, I find it disgraceful. 

My mother was admitted a couple of times in summer 2023 and discharged September 2023 and was told she would be seen by a consultant within 6/8wks, that didn’t happened. 

Since then she has been seen once by a consultant in 2024 and that’s after I fought for it and told them I was going to my MP and have been fighting ever since to be seen again. 

At that appointment her bloods were taken for the first time since discharge and guess what she was lacking in vitamins and was put on many supplements. The consultant also noted that she had lost a lot of weight especially around the stomach area which was the plan and said they seen a massive difference in her since they first meet her (this consultant is not the head and I actually thought they were the only one that actually helped while she was admitted the second time, I found the head was useless during her admissions also).

My mother has not had a proper meal since August 2023 as she was told she could have  liquids only until she was seen and a plan was made (awaiting to see if they are going to operate) this was over 2yrs ago. 

I have lost count to how many times I have called the consultant's secretary to ask to be seen and constantly being told, the head of the department wants to see her and she is on his list.

In summer 25 I was told she would be seen in Aug/Sept 25, that never happened; then was told Oct/Nov 25, again nothing; then in Dec 25 was told nothing would happen until after the new yea,r but she is at the top of the list.

I have lost all trust now and have no faith in this consultant. The last few times I have called I have been told that the consultant also needs to wait to be allocated a room within the hospital, I have also been told on numerous occasions this consultant doesn’t have much clinics, which I believe both of these points is absolutely shocking and disgusting. A hospital that size and they can’t supply a consultation room for patients to be seen. I have heard this so many times now,  the treatment she has received is disgusting and I’ll be totally honest, I believe a dog would be seen quicker than human patients. 

This is  really effecting my mother’s life now, emotionally, mentally and physically. She has been at this stage for a while now which I have also told the secretary. They say people’s mental health matters, in my view it doesn’t, and this proves it now.  It upsets her so much that she doesn’t want to go out with friends as it hurts her too much to watch others eat in front of her and puts her in a state of depression.

There is days she can’t get out of bed, there is others she can’t sleep and actually sleeping on the chair is more comfortable than in bed, which is a hospital bed she was given after her discharge.

Over two years of doing everything they have asked of her and being at that target they set her since near the start of 2025 and still nothing.

I have the letters from when she was discharged stating she would be seen 6/8 weeks later and a copy of the letters  the dietitian has sent to the consultant after each of their visits. 

This is just a little insight to how consultants and the hospital are treating human beings.
