"Being treated for chest pain sob and asthma exacerbation"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Would just like to thank the triage team, the dr, domestics, xray department and all the staff, especially the lovely porter, sorry not great with names, memory awful.

I was scared and sob and in pain and the care and compassion, kindness I got from accident in emergency in Wishaw General was excellent, they were very busy with little space. I was seen and everything done in 4 and half hours. I was triaged quickly then seen by a dr within a hour and bloods ecg and observations all done examined fully/

X-rays, made sure I was comfortable, being a nurse myself it’s awful being on the other side and I got home with meds and am now back at work just today but feeling so much better and the reassurance and quick treatment helped in my recovery so I thank u, well done Wishaw General ED, it’s easy for people to see the negative so I just wanted to share thank you.

Dear Lindsml7,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful message. It truly means a great deal to the whole Emergency Department team here at Wishaw.

I’m very glad to hear that you felt supported, cared for, and reassured during what was clearly a frightening and painful experience for you. Being on the other side as a nurse can feel especially vulnerable, so your words carry real weight and are deeply appreciated by everyone involved in your care — from triage, medical and nursing staff, to X‑ray, domestics, and our porters.

Our team has been very busy recently and working within limited space, so your recognition of their compassion and professionalism will be shared with them and will mean a lot. They’ll be delighted to know that the timely assessment, treatment, and reassurance helped you feel safe and contributed to your recovery.

It’s wonderful to hear you’re feeling much better and even back at work.

Thank you again for taking the time to send such kind feedback — it really does make a difference.

Warm regards,

Julie Coyle
