"Professional and efficient"

About: Community Occupational Therapy / Glenrothes & Cowdenbeath

(as a service user),

My wife and self have been seeking, for some considerable time, the services of a reliable joiner to install a handrail on our stairway leading to our upstairs bedroom/s.

We failed but to our good fortune we were referred to Fife Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and Michelle, the OT. From the moment we met Michelle, our prayers were answered. Michelle was professional and efficient and anxious to assist in any way possible relating to handrails.

Following research, Michelle proposed the following:

1. A handrail to be installed on the stairway leading to the bedrooms

2. A hand support be installed at the shower room door

3. A handrail be installed at the house rear entrance

In no time at all, a joiner called to fit the necessary handrails. An excellent job by a tradesman who really cared for what he was doing.

A blacksmith also arrived to measure up for the external handrail. We personally requested two garden handrails. The blacksmith duly returned and, most efficiently, fitted all the requested handrails. We met the costs relating to the garden handrails.

Michelle called by telephone to ensure all the work, joiner and blacksmith had been completed satisfactorily. It had so professionally.

We warmly thank Michelle and both tradesman for work very well done.

Thank you.

Dear beidgz44, very

thank you for taking the time to provide such positive feedback about the community occupational therapy service. I have passed on your comments to Michelle McIntosh, occupational therapy assistant from the Cupar team, and she was very pleased to receive your commendation. Michelle is a highly valued member of the team and I am proud to hear that you were impressed by her professional and efficient approach, something that our service always aims to achieve.

I am also delighted to hear that you also found the joiner and blacksmith to be helpful and professional and I will make sure to pass your commendation to their supervisors.

If you require further assistance from occupational therapy in the future, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the Health and Social Care Contact Centre on 03451 551503.

Wishing you all the best for the future.

Kind regards,

Ailsa
