My partner sadly has had a stay in C.A.H. for gallbladder issues. I originally attended with her mid Jan 2026 and after the usual checks, poking and prodding we were permitted to go home the next day to return for a scan and further checks. Following the scan and checks my partner had to be admitted for further care onto a ward. In our case it happened to be 3 south.
Since my partner has been admitted the care and attention she has received has been nothing short of amazing. The care assistants, the cleaners, the nurses... all of them have been without fail beyond outstanding.
Want some cold water? No problem its there in less than a minute. Drop something? No problem, it is sorted before it hits the floor. Pain getting too much. No problem, let me scan your wristband and see what you can have.
Nothing seems to be too much for the staff on 3 south. Each and every nurse on that ward, and I believe every ward should be venerated at every given chance by whoever they answer to. If they were paid 3 times as much, they would still be underpaid. Never have I ever seen a more apt use for "'to takes a village to raise a child'. The team work and cohesion is just something else.
Not every member of staff met my partner. but it sure as eggs are eggy it took everyone of them to help her on her way back home. That being said I am going to give a few shout outs in particular. Chloe in the blue coat, too smiley and happy for her own good. Just amazing.
Sinead in the green coat, poring a cup of tea with her heart in her hand. Katie in the blue coat..... I dont have enough words for. Sinead in the blue coat. Just wow.... honestly, just too good. Glynis that took the time and care to give my partner on her 37th canula, just beyond calm and patient. Tyler in the green coat. If that man ever moves on you will need 3 people to replace him. I dont know if I will ever see anyone as happy to do what others would look down on and be happy doing it. Tyler is a credit to all. Give that man a chance to move up the chain and progress.
Emma in the stripey coat is too cheery for her good, but by thunder she has a knack for cheering sad people up. When she finishes her training, whoever reads this go out of your way to get that woman on staff. No doubt I have forgot loads of people and for that I can only apologise. It has been long week, but to all of you, never ever doubt that you are all needed and appreciated. We all know the shite conditions you all work under.
I need to go back a bit and talk about Katie. She is the star of all stars. As said earlier all staff are gems, Chloe is brilliant but ultimately when I was stressed and upset Katie took time away from what she was doing to get me the information about my partner to settle me down. She done it with a smile and done it right away. It might have been just another thing for her to do on top of everything else but it meant everything to me..... for that I cant say thank you enough.
To all the cleaners, to the porters, to the nurse assistants the nurses..... to you all, and I suppose even grudgingly the doctors and surgeons. To each and every one of you. I hope this will go some way to show you how much you are needed and appreciated.
Thank you all so so much.
