"Speaking to someone who really listened"

I have been suffering with long term chronic UTI's. After a long battle with my GP I was finally referred to Urology. I spoke to Elaine, a nurse specialist based at Ottery St Mary, who had helped me in 2018 with the same issue. She was fantastic. She is professional, knowledgeable, understanding and really listens. I talked through the frustration of trying to deal with my GP and trying to continue a 'normal' life with no support from the health service. Elaine gave me some really useful signposts to up-to-date research and other possible treatment options. She wrote to my GP to try to make accessing antibiotics when I need them easier. She also gave me the option of calling her department for support. I couldn't have asked for more. I was left feeling hopeful that there was a plan and a way forward. Also that someone with more experience than me, was in my corner.
