"The excellent care that I received in day surgery"

I would like to pass on the following feedback about my experience of the Day Surgery Unit Team. I received outstanding care during my recent visit. I’ve had very different experiences in hospitals before, so walking into such a friendly, reassuring, and genuinely positive environment made a world of difference.

Every member of staff I met was kind, helpful, and welcoming, and it truly showed how much pride they all take in their work. I have been working in the NHS for 26 years, and I always measure other staff to my working standards. I belief  to smile, be helpful and be kind does not cost much, but means so much to the vulnerable patient in front of you. And this team did not disappoint.

I’d especially like to mention nurses Debbie, Karen, and Heather, who were not only professional but also warm, supportive, and full of good humour. Their ability to put me at ease and even share a few laughs, meant more than they probably realise.

My thanks also go to Dr Boswell, whose calm and reassuring approach as my anaesthetist helped settle any nerves, and to Mr Stewart and Dr Neagle for their humanity, excellent skill and confidence as my surgical team. I felt safe, informed, and genuinely cared for throughout the entire process.

This experience was fantastic from start to finish, and I’m truly grateful to every one of them. Their teamwork, compassion, and positivity made a real impact.
