"Awful bedside manner"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Surgical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

Attended for AAA on KG5. Awful bedside manner, a staff member told me I was lying about being sick. I had to stay in overnight and waited over 13 hours to get any pain meds and when I finally did get some they weren’t the ones I was expecting. Sent home without actually getting diagnosed with anything and still in absolute agony all because they needed my bed.

Dear Conditionerqb33,

As the ward manager on KGV, I am very sorry you felt you had a negative experience on our ward/assessment area. We always try and keep a high standard of care and I can only apologise if you felt you were pushed out.

As this post is anonymous if you would like to take any of this further then please contact PALS using rduh.pals@nhs.net

Kind regards,

Eleanor
