"A true example of excellent NHS care"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Same Day Admissions Unit The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was admitted recently for a hysterectomy to GRI. From my first encounter with the ward clerk at same day admission who was so welcoming, to meeting all the nursing and medical staff I was very well cared for.

The level of observation and governance was second to none. It was a busy busy environment but I never felt rushed or made to wait at all. The surgeons came and briefed me thoroughly. Anaesthetics were brilliant - never felt a thing! 

Ward 56 nursing staff were absolutely fantastic. So kind caring and reactive to all my needs. 

As a fellow medical professional, I was so impressed with my care. A true example of excellent NHS care, thank you very much!

We are delighted to hear that you felt so well cared for throughout your journey – from your welcome at Same Day Admission, through to your surgical and anaesthetic care, and during your time on Ward 56. Your kind words about the nursing, medical and anaesthetic teams, as well as the high level of observation and governance, are truly appreciated.

It is especially meaningful to receive such positive feedback from a fellow medical professional. Knowing that you felt safe, unrushed and thoroughly briefed, even within what can often be a very busy environment, is wonderful to hear and reflects the standards we continually strive to uphold.
