"Such skill and genuine compassion"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Gynaecology

(as a relative),

I am writing to share our immense gratitude for the care we received recently from Helen during our 12-week scan.

To provide some context, my wife and I arrived at the RVI feeling incredibly anxious and, quite frankly, terrified. We suffered a miscarriage two years ago, so today was a massive emotional hurdle for us. From the moment we met Helen, those nerves began to settle.

I can honestly say I have never seen someone perform their role with such skill and genuine compassion. Helen has an extraordinary warmth about her; she kept us both completely at ease while we were finally seeing our baby on the screen.

She went well above and beyond her clinical duties, taking the time to explain the next steps in detail and ensuring we left feeling informed and supported rather than just "processed."

Helen is an absolute credit to the RVI and the NHS as a whole. People often talk about the pressure the health service is under, but professionals like Helen represent the very best of it. We would be very grateful if this feedback could be passed on to her and her line manager to ensure her hard work and kindness are recognised.
