I live in Coatbridge, when I discovered I had lung cancer (shadow on my lung). I didn’t know where to turn to or what to do.
The first thing that happened to me was the NHS district nurse contacted me, her name was Stephanie. She was able to explain what would happen going forward, she was able to assist with medication I needed in order for me to lead as much of a normal life as possible. This included discovery of an infection on my other lung that was not picked up previously. This enabled me to breathe much more easily once I had the correct medication.
Stephanie also sorted out a hospital bed for me without which I was unable to sleep. Stephanie has also arranged for care staff to help me in the mornings with my daily routine.
I receive a weekly visit from Stephanie who will take an update of my current condition and adjust any medical needs accordingly. I have complete confidence in the treatment I am currently receiving from Stephanie. Without Stephanie’s expert knowledge, I’d probably be in a much worse situation
