"A 5 star, professional team"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Pulmonary Rehab (Nottingham West)

(as a service user),

I have asthma and COPD and had bilateral pneumonia last summer. Following the pneumonia i had lots of episodes of sudden breathlessness. I mentioned it at my asthma review and the nurse offered the pulmonary rehab course. I took the offer up and started the course in January.

All the staff were very friendly and supportive and i realised how unfit i was even though i have a really busy and active life. The course has enabled me to develop my fitness and stamina and i was really pleased with my progression despite have a chest infection in the middle of it. I feel so much fitter now and know how to control any breathlessness

The talks were really informative and just about the right length. Following one of the talks i talked to the nurse about my medication and she contacted my gp and my medicines were changed as a result.

A 5 star, professional team who have been so helpful to me. I shall miss the classes but they have given me an option going forward. Thankyou.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about the pulmonary rehabilitation programme.

We are very pleased to hear that you found the course helpful and that it has improved your fitness, stamina, and confidence in managing your breathlessness, particularly following your pneumonia. Recognising how much effort participants put into the sessions—especially when dealing with setbacks such as chest infections—makes your progress even more rewarding for the team to see.

We are also glad that you found the education sessions informative and that the discussion about your medication supported a review with your GP. Supporting patients to better understand and manage their condition is an important part of the programme.

Your kind comments about the team are greatly appreciated and will be shared with the staff. We wish you all the best in continuing the progress you have made.
