"My husband's cancer journey"

About: Perth Royal Infirmary / General Outpatients Department Perth Royal Infirmary / Speech & Language Therapy - PRI Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a relative),

In August of last year, my husband was diagnosed with Squamous cell cancer. This involved his tongue, tonsil and lymph nodes. He had a feeding tube inserted through his tummy. Throughout his treatment, we had numerous appointments with the dietician and the speech and language therapist. They were so very supportive and reassuring throughout and were always available to call if there was anything we were unsure about. We can only praise all of the professionals involved with our care. They were patient and willing to go over anything as often as we needed and we felt well supported all the way through.

We both would like to say thank you so much to everyone involved with our care.  Your cheery attitude and kindness made our experience as good as it could be.

Hi there,

What lovely feedback! I will share this with the ENT team here in PRI. It's great to know you felt so well looked after and supported through what I'm sure was a really difficult time. I wish you and your husband well. Take care and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. SCN Leah Hicks (PRI Outpatients).
