My elderly mother was seen in Antrim Area A&E after a fall. She was triaged and taken to see the nurse practitioner within 20 minutes. The nurse practitioner was so kind and supportive with Mum and stitched her up and sorted X-rays and tetanus injection as quickly as she could. I thought that would be us finished but we were then moved to the new Elderly and frailty ward. Here my mother was seen by a full team of professionals who looked after her in what could only be described as an amazing way. The Pharmacy sorted out her medication, she was seen by the OT, the Physio who got her a rollator, the Dr who listened so carefully to Mum and was very patient with her. The nurse on duty looked after Mum so well and with good humour. I can honestly say that money couldn’t have paid for a better service than she received on Thursday on this ward. It is such a necessary area for older members of the community to be looked after in a safe, caring capacity and my whole family are extremely grateful.
"looked after Mum so well"
