"Mental Health and alcohol abuse during menopause, it’s real"

About: Inclusion Recovery Hampshire / Eastleigh

(as the patient),

INCLUSION EASTLEIGH - It’s a really hard thing to admit as I’m such a private person, but I’ve been suffering from menopausal symptoms for a while, very low mood, not coping at work, for some reason it made me want to drink more. After a hospital visit, I hit rock bottom and was signed off work, I am a high performing woman so I have no idea where this has come from. I’ve coped for over 50 years of my life and raised 3 amazing grown adults.

The ambulance service were incredible, I didn’t want to go to hospital, I didn’t want to leave my safe place at home, the ambulance was called twice then I then reached out to Sharon at Inclusion in Eastleigh. Sharon is the go to person if you need help, the important thing to remember is, that there is no judgement. Try not to be a nervous wreck like I was! Sharon has the tissues ready in abundance so don’t worry about that, my advice is to take your first step, my god it’s so hard, now I’ve met my key worker Maria, amazing lady, I never thought help was out there but I promise it is.

I found inclusion at Eastleigh a scary thought but it is a lifeline, early days for me but I’m comfortable going back for help. It is a safe place if you need help.
