Last month, I went through a silent miscarriage which was only discovered during a scan. It was an incredibly difficult moment, but I wanted to share how grateful I am for the staff who supported me.
At Clinic 2, the midwife sonographer, Jo, had the very difficult task of telling me that my pregnancy had stopped and that my three babies were not alive. She handled the situation with so much kindness, respect and professionalism. She took the time to explain everything clearly and never made me feel rushed.
Lara, the nurse who later explained the follow-up care and possible procedures, was also wonderful. She was calm, compassionate and very clear in her explanations. There was also a maternity support worker who was extremely caring.
What meant the most to me was that none of them dismissed my feelings. During such a vulnerable time, their empathy made a huge difference.
I also appreciated leaving the hospital with clear information and links to support services for miscarriage. It felt reassuring to know that support is available (charities). I was also given memory boxes, one for each of my triplets, which was incredibly meaningful and comforting.
Thank you so much to everyone of them.
