"Avoidable journey"

Appointment recently at 11.00 at the Royal Victoria Hospital Folkestone regarding treatment for prostate cancer.  I arrived at the Derry unit in good time only to be told that the doctor on duty was not qualified to perform the operation. My journey to and from the hospital could have been avoided with a simple phone call.  

The nurse on duty was charming and full of apologies.  She gave me a new appointment in six days time.
